*2 Notes on NTSC playback on PAL-60
TVs:
- If your PAL TV doesn't have a vertical hold control, you may not be
able to view NTSC tapes because the picture may roll. If the TV has a
vertical hold control, adjust it until the picture stops rolling. On some
TVs, the picture may shrink vertically, leaving black bands at the tap and
bottom of the screen. This is not a malfunction: it is caused by NTSC
playback on a PAL TV.
- When using special effect playback features (video search, still
picture, slow and frame advance), noise bars will appear, and the picture
may change from colour to monochrome. The colour can be restored by
pressing the TRACKING buttons two or three times.
- When an NTSC tape is played back on a PAL TV, the programme cannot be
copied or edited on a PAL VCR.
